Happy 9th Birthday Audriana!

Audriana is 9 today! We can't believe our little baby is now a 9 year old! She is.....So perfect, so wonderful, so kind, so smart, so tender, so emotional, so interested (and so interesting, too!), so thoughtful, so proud, so beautiful, so musical, so athletic, so many things!!!! She is just about perfect in our eyes and we thank God every day for allowing us to be her parents and helping us guide her through life! It's a wonderful thing!

When Audriana turned 8, she was finally allowed to read and watch all the Star Wars movies. She has been waiting so patiently to turn 9 because she knew that she would now be allowed to read the Harry Potter books. Aunt Kristi wanted to give Audriana her gift the night before her bday, so that she would have it first thing when she woke up.....can you guess what she gave her?!?!? The entire Harry Potter series of books! Oh my gosh she was so excited! I have no doubt that she will plow through this series with the same excitement as she had for the Little House on the Praire series. Thank you Aunt Kristi!

As expected, Audriana woke up before 6am, ready to open up her family presents. Maria had sent a gift a few days ago, and it has been sitting in front of the fire place driving Audriana crazy -- every day she would ask if she could open it up and I would always tell her "nope, not until your birthday". Aunt Pam and Uncle Todd also had sent their gift early, so she really had a lesson in patience this week while she waited for Oct. 11th! Maria gave her a really cool game called Yellowstone Bingo! Very fun! The Schurra family gave her a check for $30 to put towards Audriana's IPod Touch fund, which I believe did put her over her goal of $200, so we will begin looking for one to buy this weekend! Sofia gave her a super cool Cookie Monster hat and a lego set. Martin and I gave her a Harry Potter Lego set, a totally awesome big kid watch, and a Halloween craft book and CD set.

After opening up her gifts, Audriana started right in on the first Harry Potter book.

Sofia and I made an awesome breakfast for all of us -- breakfast burritos and fruit. Yummy!

I also surprised the girls (and Martin) by taking the day off from work so I could take them to school and pick them up. After school, Sofia had Kindermusik and Audriana read her book until it was over. Then we all headed down to the Old Spaghetti Factory for her traditional birthday dinner. Aunt Kristi joined us and we all enjoyed a meal with our two beautiful and wonderful daughters. What a great day!
