Family Game Night!
We had such a fun Saturday night! Uncle Mike came over and joined us for some yummy spaghetti, salad, and bread and some fun games! We played Zingo, War, and played the Wii. The best was watching Uncle Mike try to dance next to Sofia with the Just Dance III songs! Wish I would have had my camera out for that shot!

Our first Lady Zags game!
Kristi scored 4 tickets to the Gonzaga Women's Basketball game tonight. So, with Audriana and Sofia in tow, we made it a fun girls night out! The game started at 6pm, so we got to the McCarthy Athletic Center by 5:30 so we could find our seats and watch the team warm up. Audriana had her eyes roaming all over the arena - taking in as much as she could. It was such a cool experience for her -- she just loved all the energy and music that comes with a college bball game! Sofia loved being there, too, and she especially loved watching the Gonzaga cheerleaders! She just couldn't believe it when the men would lift the cheerleaders up into the air. She informed us that she could probably do that -- yea, no problem! And the band was so cool! They played some really great tunes -- very loud and very energetic. We even treated ourselves to dinner - which pleased the girls even more! I was excited to see that they had some affordable food for the kids...for $4.50 the kids got a "kids pack" that came with a hotdog, small popcorn, drink, and rice krispie treat! What a good deal! Kristi and I had just a plain german sausage, which was $5.50 on its own! The Lady Zags played great, leading LMU the entire game. I think the final score was something like 72 to 50. We ran into Tami and Brett Hatcher (and their son Jack) when we first arrived and they told us to find them after the game and the girls could meet Lady Zag Shannon Reader #31! She is the daughter of one of Tami's friends, so they have become very close with her. We found them after the game and Shannon came right over to say hello to the girls and sign their Gonzaga posters. She was even kind enough to take a picture with the kids. We just had the best night! We will definitely do this again! Thanks Kristi for the opportunity to take in our first Gonzaga game!

Audriana and Harry Potter
Well....she did it! We are so proud of her!
She finished all 7 Harry Potter Books!!!!
What an accomplishment!
She had to wait until she was 9 to begin reading the Harry Potter series, so she asked for the books for her birthday. Aunt Kristi gave her all 7 books on October 11 2011, and she promptly began reading book #1. She was immediately drawn in to the story and was soon bringing her book with her everywhere -- even in the car on the way to school, so she could read for 10 minutes more. She kept reading and kept moving on to the next book in the series. When she got to book 5, I thought to myself, "this book has almost 900 pages, it's going to take her a while". She had a goal to finish book 5 by NYE, and guess what? She did! She completed all 7 books on January 22nd 2012 -- just 3 months after receiving the books. Aunt Pam and Uncle Todd gave her the entire set of DVD movies for Christmas (clearly her favorite gift of all!) so she has also been able to watch all the movies. It's been so much fun for her -- and so much fun for Martin and I to watch her do this. I don't know many 3rd graders who can say that they have done that.......we are so proud! Just this morning she told me that she was going to read them again -- I believe she will! :-)

More Sledding Fun! This time with the Lunds!
This weekend just keeps getting better and better! If you can believe it, the girls did a bit more sledding today! It has certainly been a fun 3-day weekend of sledding fun! After getting about 8 inches of snow last Thursday, District 81 closed school on Friday, so the kids had their first "Snow Day"! Martin had them out all day long on Friday sledding -- first around our neighborhood, then up to Chase Middle School (where I guess the sledding hills are "awesome"!). Then yesterday with the Meadows boys, and today with the Lunds! They have a fantastic hill right next to their house (near Eagle Ridge) and is literaly just 2 minutes from our house. Here are some fun pics of the kids today.....

| Thank you Lund family for a great afternoon of sledding fun with great friends! |
A fun day with the Meadows boys....
What a fun Saturday! After ice skating lessons, we headed home to grab the sleds, gloves, snow pants, hats, boots, sweatshirts, and coats -- then drove out to Angie's in Hangman Hills. The kids had such a blast -- sledding all day long together! The best part was that Angie and I got to relax inside the warm house, talking, and just catching up like girl friends like to do! It was the best, most relaxing day I have had in a long time. The kids are so good together and get along so wonderfully. I think they only came in for lunch and hot cocoa.........they are gonna sleep good tonight! It was quite a workout for their little bodies!

First big snow of 2012!

We got about 5 inches of snow Thursday night -- school was cancelled Friday and the girls were so excited to have a day off to play in the snow! I went off to work and Martin planned a super fun day for the girls. Sledding all day long! When I got home from work, the girls wanted to go out again (!), so I took them out front for a while (while Martin relaxed in the glory of a quiet house).....I took a few cute pics of these sweet and happy girls!
