| Our anniversary is always special to us -- we feel blessed to be together and we love this time of year and the Christmas spirit it brings. As usual, my mom takes the girls early in the morning and keeps them overnight. Martin and I get the whole day to ourselves -- no, not relaxing! Finishing shopping, finishing Christmas cards, grocery shopping for the next few days and figuring out what I am making and what I need, wrapping everything, organizing what gifts are to be put under the tree, which ones will go with us to moms tomorrow on Christmas Eve, which ones need to be hidden from little eyes, doing laundry, cleaning the house for company, .... the list goes on and on! Whew! It is nice to have a day to ourselves to get it all done....and the girls LOVE going to Grandmas! They've been waiting for this because they know that they are going to help Grandma shop, wrap, and make goodies! It's a tradition that they love, too. Martin spends the entire day getting things cut, diced, chopped, and prepared for his Nicaraguan chicken dinner that he makes us each Christmas day. Then, finally, we treat ourselves to dinner out. This year we chose Thai food...simply because we love Thai food, but the girls don't, so we don't ever get to have it unless we are out without them. Dinner was good and we had a good time catching up with one another! LOL! Then home again to finish the preperations for Christmas! |
