Sofia's 2011 Christmas program at Montessori Central!

Our dear Mrs. Pipella with Sofia (the red nose angel) and Theo (Sofia's best friend this year at Montessori Central)
I took this picture so you could get a good look at Martin's handy-work.  He made the "jingles" for the kids to use during their awesome rendition of Cascabel (Jingle Bells in Spanish).  He used all recycled material -- hangers, bottle caps, plastic milk and peanut butter lids.  Man it sounded great!
These are the kindgergartners this year -- front and center is out sweet, sweet Sofia Alexis Alfaro!  She sang her heart out and we are so proud of her!  Loud and Proud!

We love Theo!  Such sweet friends...

Mom and her angel.....
Thank you for coming, Aunt Kristi!  I think she really enjoyed herself!

Only missing Audriana here...she chose to stay at Mullan Rd today because her class was going to get to see Mr. Popper's Penquins and she didn't want to miss it!
I love it when Sofia gets silly....:-)

Keeney Christmas 2011!

The 2011 Keeney Clan!  Love this family!
We really do look forward to this party all year long -- it's such a wonderful part of our Christmas traditions each year, and truthfully our favorite celebration.  This year was no different, with the girls counting down the days until the big event.  Jeff and Linda were hosting this year at their apartment complex in Seattle overlooking Lake Union (temporary residence while their house continues to get remodeled and rebuilt after the fire this past June).  The complex has a big common area with a kitchen -- which worked out just perfectly for all 30 (?) of us to gather.  Our extended family continues to grow and this year we welcomed baby Ethan (Neil and Shannon) and baby Jocelyn (Jeff and Linda) to their first Keeney Christmas.  And we found out that Jenny and Marc will welcome a new baby on July 4th - Hannah will be a big sister!
Uncle Tom made his famous chili and the rest of us brought things to accompany it.  It was all so good!  Audriana ate almost her whole bowl and said that Uncle Tom's chili was the only chili she likes (quite a compliment from this picky eater!).  In fact, Sofia ate most of her bowl, too!  We had bread, salad, stuffed mushrooms, dips, cheese and crackers, hummus, fruit and veggy crudite.  Plus all the Keeney corn, party pride, rice krispy treats, chocolate pie, apple pies.....oh my!!!!  As usual, we all walked away very full!  It was a treat this year that we had so many of us there....Dave and Kathleen have all 5 kids living in Seattle again -- it was Davey's first Keeney Christmas in 10 years!  He moved back to Seattle from Boston this past year and brought his adorable girlfriend, Svea, with him.  Conor and Emily have also moved back. Shannon and Neil (with Clara and Ethan), plus Marc and Jenney (with Hannah), were there...only missing the youngest, Tim, due to sickness.  Tom and Bonnie, Teckla, plus Linda, Jeff and baby Jocelyn were there -- only missing Baltimore because he had to work.  Mom and Jay, plus Mike, Kristi and us were there -- only missing Todd, Pam and the girls.

Our girls with 2 of their favorite people in the whole world!  Ready to head out to the Keeney Christmas!  Yah!
Grandma and her girls -- with their new singing santa hats!
Isn't she beautiful?!
Patiently waiting to open up the presents!
Vintage lunch boxes!  Revenge of the Jedi and Hello Kitty!
Sofia was so happy that her name was on the biggest present under the tree!  It was a giant stuffed bear -- she named it Heddie, which was grandma Keeney's name.  She liked it because Heddie rhymed with Teddie!
Uncle T is a great Grandpa to sweet baby Jocelyn Keeney!!!!  She is such a happy, smiley, baby!  So cute!

Clara and Ethan -- what a cute pair!
