Sofia's Birthday Party -- we are celebrating 7 wonderful years!

Happy Birthday party day!  Sofia has wanted this hamburger cake for about a year now...it has been on display down at Trading Company and everytime she sees it, she says "that's the cake I want for my next birthday party".  Well, it was about double the price of what we would normally pay for a cake, but I just couldn't dissappoint her.  I told her that we would get the cake, but that it would have to be one of her presents....she agreed.  LOL.  It was really good, too!

Sofia invited a few of her school friends up to the Airway Heights Movie Theatre to see HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA!  We had Hadyn, Miranda, Aspen, Kiki, Sophia Grace, Addy and Kendra and Audriana.

Our sweet angel!  We love you, Sofia!

So glad that Sofia's bestie, Addy, was able to come...even though she wasn't feeling very well!

Sofia has known Sophia Grace since she was 3...they went to Montessori Central together and she lives just up the street.  She's such a sweet girl....glad she could make it to the party!

Craft time making jewlery!
Here is Addy and Kiki -- soccer team buddies!  We just love these girls!

Happy 10th Birthday, Audriana!

Wow!  Our daughter is 10!  What a beauty -- inside and out!  It has been tradition for as long as I can remember that we go to the Old Spaghetti Factory for Audriana's birthday dinner....but this year we decided on doing something new!  We went to McKenzie River Pizza Company!  It was Mullan Rd night and 20% of our dinner bill was going to be donated, so it was a win-win for us!  Mom and Jay and Kristi joined us tonight as we celebrated sweet Audriana and marveled in the young lady she has become.  Happy Birthday baby!

Thursday Oct 11th....the morning began early as she was way too excited to wait another minute to open up her gifts!  I was able to take the day off, so I had set the coffee to brew early so it would be ready for us!  Luckily, it was "late" day at Mullan Rd, so it gave us an extra 30 minutes or so to get everyone ready for school.  She got gift cards to Target and Game Stop, legos, and ??? I can't remember!  Ha!  I'm getting old!

After school, I picked up the girls, headed out to Rosauers to pick up her cake (see below), then headed down to Sky High to get ready for her bday party!  She invited Havala, Troy, Cooper and Eric from school...and Bailey, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Sailor, and Emily from her soccer team.  Plus Sofia and Bailey's sister Hannah...that makes a total of 13 kids including Audriana.  It was a blast.....we had our own little area set aside for pizza, cake, gifts etc....plus the kids got a full 2 hours of jumping and playing dodge ball!  So fun!

Bailey, Rachel, Hannah, Sofia, Audriana and Havala.   It was Havala's birthday today, too!

Spokane United volunteers again for Susan G Komen Race for the Cure C'dA!

Another proud moment for us soccer parents as we watched our girls volunteer yet again -- this time for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure in C'dAlene.  The actual race was Sunday, but the girls came out Saturday afternoon to help get tables and chairs set up, plus they blew up over 200 hundred balloons to decorate.  Jayme Carter (Bailey's mom), works for UPS and had these shirts made and donated to the girls (thanks UPS!).  These girls are really learning some great life lessons about helping, volunteering, and being responsible citizens.  They are so happy to do it -- always with energy, excitement, smiles, and great attitudes!  Way to go girls!

As you can see, these girls not only worked hard, but they had fun doing it.  At 10 years old, they were most interested in putting the balloons up their shirts!  Hahaha!

Sofia's 1st grade Open House

Sofia is really loving 1st grade -- she has met lots of new friends and just loves her teacher, Mrs. Yonago.  She is always excited to go to school each morning and has been very diligent to make sure her reading and homework is done each night.  She is reading the Magic Tree House book series and has had a lot of fun getting the next book in the series each week on library day.

She was the first student picked (out of a hat) to be STAR STUDENT for the week.  We had to send pictures and things that represent her to school for Mrs. Yonago to put up on the board (the yellow board behind Sofia in the picture above).  We had quite a few pictures of her and her family, of her and Addy, of her and her soccer team, and she even had Martin help her draw and color a map of Nicaragua!  So cool!
