Camp Bennett begins -- the drop off!

Beavertail Hill State Park in Montana is 25 miles East of Missoula and is the exact halfway point between Spokane and Emigrant, MT. Sid, Joye, and sweet Maria started their 230 mile journey this morning, as did Audriana and I. We met the Bennett's here, enjoyed a picnic lunch (picked up Subway sandwiches in Missoula), took a short little walk along the Clark Fork river, then I had to say goodbye to Audriana. I knew she was excited...and she's really not the kid that has a hard time leaving mom and dad....but she jumped into their van with Maria and was buckled up and ready to leave without even looking back at me! Well...I was not going to let happen, so I went in for a hug and wished her and Maria a great time! LOL! They were so excited for this day to finally be here. We have been planning and talking about Camp Bennett since last August when the Bennett's moved away from Spokane to Emigrant. Sofia and Martin stayed home and had some fun things planned to help keep Sofia's mind off of Audriana leaving (without her!). I got back into Spokane by 3pm and the rest of the afternoon was spent with Sofia. As I type this, she is watching Punky Brewster episodes (DVD) and is snuggled up beside me in our bed. We are missing Audriana, but know that she is having an awesome time at the Bennett's. We will drive all the way to Emigrant on Thursday to spend a long weekend with them before we head home on Sunday, July 31st.

Kids' Annual Summer Week with Grandma and Grandpa!

The kids and their cousins are ready for a week with grandma and grandpa! Although, I'm not sure mommy is ready....I miss those girls already! But.....after I dropped them off this morning, I was able to run a couple of errands, then pick up a yummy lunch for Martin and I (Chicken Osaka from Noodle Express), then home to watch a movie on Netflix (the Stoning of Soraya) and a 3 hour nap! Yahoo -- a nap is such a treat for a working mom, and definitely the best part of my day today!

Playing at Priest Lake with good friends!

We spent a wonderful day up at Priest Lake with the Lund family. It was a perfect day (upper 70's) and the kids spent the entire day playing in the sand and water. The water was freezing by the way....my feet and legs were numb just wading into the water....how do they jump in and stay in?!? The Lund's have an awesome cabin directly across from the water, the beach, and Cavanaugh's resort. We are gratful for good friends and good times!
Silly Addy and Sofia.....

Ready, set, go!

Mid-air pic!

Addy was so proud of herself for jumping into the water all by herself. Such a sweet moment to see her so happy and so proud of herself. : )

Audriana would jump off here, and then swim all the way to shore...like I said, the water was absolutely freezing, and she did this about 10 times!

The girls and Everett

I LOVE this picture....all 4 mid air!

Good friends....good times!

Great picture of 11 year old Everett Lund! So cool!

Brrrrr.....

A day at the river -- Post Falls, ID

It had been such a long winter...and such a cold Spring....and summer has had such a hard time getting here....and staying here....but finally the weather seems to have turned warm, so we headed out to enjoy the sunshine at one of our very favorite beaches in Post Falls. The water was still very cold (obviously), but the girls decided that they had to get in for a few minutes. That only lasted a few seconds...then they headed to the sandy beach and spent a good 3 hours digging and playing. Martin enjoyed a nice long walk, while I enjoyed talking to Denise, watching all our kids playing and enjoying a bit of summer.

Sofia goes to Lutherhaven camp -- and LOVES it!

Last week, while Audriana was attending St. Stevens Basketball camp, Sofia was attending Lutherhaven camp. Thanks to my good friend, Denise, who told me about this awesome day camp. Audriana loved her basketball camp, but I know she wishes that she could have gone to Lutherhaven, too! Sofia came home each day with craft/art projects, fun stories about games that they played, and signing songs about Jesus. What fun memories for her!
