Beavertail Hill State Park in Montana is 25 miles East of Missoula and is the exact halfway point between Spokane and Emigrant, MT. Sid, Joye, and sweet Maria started their 230 mile journey this morning, as did Audriana and I. We met the Bennett's here, enjoyed a picnic lunch (picked up Subway sandwiches in Missoula), took a short little walk along the Clark Fork river, then I had to say goodbye to Audriana. I knew she was excited...and she's really not the kid that has a hard time leaving mom and dad....but she jumped into their van with Maria and was buckled up and ready to leave without even looking back at me! Well...I was not going to let happen, so I went in for a hug and wished her and Maria a great time! LOL! They were so excited for this day to finally be here. We have been planning and talking about Camp Bennett since last August when the Bennett's moved away from Spokane to Emigrant. Sofia and Martin stayed home and had some fun things planned to help keep Sofia's mind off of Audriana leaving (without her!). I got back into Spokane by 3pm and the rest of the afternoon was spent with Sofia. As I type this, she is watching Punky Brewster episodes (DVD) and is snuggled up beside me in our bed. We are missing Audriana, but know that she is having an awesome time at the Bennett's. We will drive all the way to Emigrant on Thursday to spend a long weekend with them before we head home on Sunday, July 31st.
